The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Palo Alto Health Care System requires Radiology Imaging Technologist to provide services that include the full range of radiology imaging care for inpatient and outpatient VA patients

Specialized Modalities:

  • Interventional Radiology (IR)
  • Computed Tomography (CT)
  • Ultrasound (US)
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
  • Mammography (M)
  • General Radiography (GEN)

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

· Certificate of Completion of Technologist training program

· Current certification or registry in respective sub-specialties by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT), Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB), or the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS)

· Five (5) years relevant clinical experience and a minimum of one (1) year of general radiology experience in respective sub-specialties in a level 1 hospital setting

· Proven clinical work experience within the past 12 months

· Prior work experience with VA Palo Alto radiology preferred equipment within the past 24 months to include but not limited to:

o MRI: Siemens, GE

o CT: GE

o IR: Canon Ultrasound: Siemens

o Mammography: Hologic and MagView,

o Gen Rad: Carestream, GE, Philips and Canon

· Must be available for weekends, holidays, evenings & night shifts including Call shift coverage for afterhours emergent procedures

· Must be able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

POITION DESCRIPTION:

***POSITION CONTINGENT UPON CONTRACT AWARD***

· Accurately operate a wide variety of imaging equipment to obtain examinations of acceptable quality, utilizing the least amount of radiation to obtain quality imaging for diagnosis and localization purposes. Organ specific and Subspecialty-specific Imaging of Adults include:

o Abdomen – Gastrointestinal

o Abdomen – Genitourinary

o Breast Imaging

o Pelvis

o Neuroradiology Imaging

o Cardiovascular | Extremity

o Musculoskeletal

· Perform and complete imaging studies within the established guidelines for stat, pre-op, urgent and routine exams

· Receive and interpret all radiology requests for accuracy, appropriateness; date desired and maintain a thorough knowledge of the ordering process in CPRS (Computerized Patient Recordkeeping System)
