Field Based Business Development Representative, Mandarin Speaking

- Greater London North (Colchester, Chelmsford & Aylesbury)
- East England (Norwich & Ipswich)

Join us in our mission to transform the way people shop and eat, where impact, innovation, and growth drives everything we do. Our Commercial team sits at the centre of Deliveroo’s marketplaceβ€”shaping how we serve restaurants, grocers, and new verticals worldwide. From negotiating key partnerships to unlocking new revenue streams and crafting data-led growth strategies, we take on big challenges that move the business forward. If you thrive in fast-paced, commercial environments and want to influence the future of a global brandβ€”this is the team for you.

We’re looking for a Field Sales Executive, Mandarin Speaking to join our London team. This is a hybrid role. In this role, you’ll help us build relationships with new Chinese restaurant partners across London and surrounding cities, improving our proposition for customers and identifying ways to continue our fast growth.

Get to know our Commercial team β€” what drives us, how we work, and what you can expect.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be joining the Chinese Category team. The Chinese Category team works alongside our entire UKI Commercial teams to drive Deliveroo’s performance across local markets, focusing on signing the best cuisine selection and expanding our footprint within this high-growth sector.

Here’s what your day-to-day might look like:

  • Drive regional restaurant acquisition: Map, prospect, pitch, and close high-value Chinese restaurant partners across London and surrounding territories to expand our local marketplace selection.

  • Execute strategic business development: Engage directly with independent restaurants in Mandarin or Cantonese via physical visits, phone calls, and social platforms to demonstrate the commercial value of Deliveroo’s technology.

  • Own the commercial onboarding journey: Oversee the end-to-end partner onboarding process to ensure it is fast, efficient, and seamless for new partners.

  • Secure early partner success: Actively support and monitor new restaurant performance within their first eight weeks on the platform to maximise their long-term growth.

  • Act as a local territory expert: Build deep insight into the regional Asian culinary scene, travelling across London and adjacent areas like Oxford, Cambridge, and Norwich to identify key brands that local customers crave.

What You’ll Need to Thrive

Essential

  • Language proficiency: Fluency in Chinese Mandarin with the ability to negotiate and build professional commercial partnerships.

  • Proven new business acquisition: Demonstrated sales experience with a track record of actively targeting new business and consistently delivering against demanding commercial targets.

  • Commercial negotiation skills: Strong commercial acumen with the ability to handle negotiations, understand marketplace economics, and structure profitable, sustainable deals.

  • Autonomy and field-based resilience: A self-motivated, tenacious approach with the ability to work independently and spend significant time out on the road meeting prospects.

  • Right to work: Valid and current right to work in the United Kingdom.

Nice to Have

  • Additional language skills: Professional command or working knowledge of Cantonese.

  • Mobility requirement: Possession of a valid UK driving licence and access to a personal vehicle to facilitate travel across surrounding regions.
