Senior Manager, Accounting

Join us in our mission to transform the way people shop and eat, where impact, innovation, and growth drives everything we do. Our Finance team shapes the company's future by directing capital to high-impact investments, developing robust financial strategies, and ensuring we deliver long-term value while pursuing our ambitious mission.

We’re looking for a Senior Manager, Accounting to join our London team. This is a hybrid role. In this role, you’ll help us strengthen our general ledger and accounting operations functions while driving alignment with global financial processes.

Get to know our Finance team — what drives us, how we work, and what you can expect.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be joining the Accounting sub-team, reporting to the International Controller. It’s an exciting time to join our rapidly growing team, where you will manage day-to-day general ledger operations, ensure robust internal controls, and partner with cross-functional leaders to keep pace within one of the fastest-growing marketplace companies.

Here’s what your day-to-day might look like:

  • Manage day-to-day accounting activities to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, internal policies, SOX controls, and external audits.

  • Integrate general ledger accounting operations to drive alignment with global processes across the organisation.

  • Share ownership of the full-cycle general ledger financial close process, reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations to ensure complete and accurate financials.

  • Drive process improvement and automation initiatives to streamline accounting operations and refine monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles.

  • Act as a key decision-maker in the continuous development of accounting policies, standard operating procedures, and monthly variance analysis in partnership with FP&A and Financial Reporting.

What You’ll Need to Thrive

Essential:

  • Extensive public company accounting experience within a relevant industry, alongside proven experience managing and developing staff.

  • Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP, IFRS, PCAOB standards, and SOX internal controls.

  • Proven track record of managing full-cycle financial close processes and maintaining robust accounting operations.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, ACA/ACCACPA qualification, or equivalent professional experience.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working with financial systems such as NetSuite, Coupa, and GSuite.
