This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Applied AI Senior Consultant based in United Kingdom.

This is a senior, client-facing consulting role focused on turning emerging AI capabilities into practical business outcomes in healthcare.
You will help health plans and payer organizations identify, design, and scale AI-powered solutions across critical operational workflows.
The role combines strategic advisory, hands-on solution design, and delivery leadership from early discovery through production deployment.
You will work directly with executives, operational leaders, technology teams, and external partners to solve complex challenges.
Your work may span utilization management, claims processing, care management, member services, and administrative operations.
You will also help establish responsible AI practices that address privacy, security, compliance, governance, and human oversight.
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced AI consultant who can bridge business needs, technical possibilities, and measurable value.

Accountabilities
  • Serve as a trusted AI advisor to healthcare clients and payer organizations, helping leadership teams identify high-value opportunities for AI and automation.
  • Lead discovery sessions and solution-design workshops that translate operational challenges into practical, achievable AI use cases and adoption roadmaps.
  • Guide AI initiatives from strategy and use-case identification through pilots, solution implementation, production deployment, optimization, and continuous improvement.
  • Design and deliver AI-powered solutions for payer workflows, including utilization management, claims processing, care management, member engagement, member services, and administrative operations.
  • Develop solutions incorporating large language models, retrieval-augmented generation, workflow automation, copilots, and agentic AI orchestration where appropriate.
  • Define solution architectures that integrate AI capabilities responsibly with existing client systems, technologies, and operating environments.
  • Establish governance models, human-in-the-loop controls, safeguards, and responsible AI practices for regulated healthcare environments.
  • Evaluate AI platforms, technologies, and vendors based on business value, implementation feasibility, security, compliance, scalability, and return on investment.
  • Create reusable frameworks, accelerators, and delivery approaches that can be applied consistently across multiple consulting engagements.
  • Coordinate cross-functional delivery teams and technology vendors throughout solution design, implementation, and operationalization.
  • Support business development and pre-sales activities, including client presentations, prospect discussions, solution development, and RFP responses.
  • Help expand AI capabilities and offerings by identifying emerging technologies, partnerships, market opportunities, and areas for differentiation.
  • Define success metrics for AI initiatives, monitor outcomes, and communicate progress and business impact to technical, operational, and executive stakeholders.
  • Stay current with advances in AI, payer-industry trends, responsible AI practices, and relevant healthcare regulatory developments.
  • Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent practical experience, with 8+ years of experience in technology consulting, digital transformation, solution delivery, or a related field.
    • Significant recent experience applying AI in production environments, with a proven track record of moving beyond prototypes and proofs of concept into deployed solutions.
    • Direct experience working with health plans, payers, managed-care organizations, or related healthcare operations.
    • Strong understanding of payer workflows such as utilization management, claims processing, care management, member engagement, member services, or administrative operations.
    • Practical expertise with large language models, retrieval-augmented generation, workflow automation, copilots, and agentic AI patterns.
    • Experience designing and implementing AI solutions in regulated environments, with a strong understanding of privacy, security, HIPAA compliance, reliability, governance, and responsible AI.
    • Proven ability to connect complex business challenges with practical AI opportunities and translate strategy into executable solutions.
    • Strong solution architecture and delivery skills, including the ability to integrate AI technologies with enterprise systems and operational environments.
    • Experience advising executive stakeholders and communicating complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Experience supporting consulting business development, pre-sales activities, client presentations, solution development, or RFP responses.
    • Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional teams, technology partners, and external vendors throughout complex initiatives.
    • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
    • Comfortable operating independently in a client-facing environment while maintaining a strong focus on delivery quality, business value, and measurable outcomes.
    • Benefits

      • Opportunity to work on high-impact AI initiatives within the healthcare and payer ecosystem.
      • Client-facing consulting environment with significant exposure to executive, operational, and technology stakeholders.
      • Opportunity to lead initiatives across the full AI lifecycle, from strategy and discovery through production deployment and optimization.
      • Fully remote work arrangement within the United States.
      • Contractor or FTE engagement structure, depending on the position and arrangement.
      • Opportunity to contribute to responsible AI practices involving privacy, security, HIPAA compliance, governance, and human oversight.
      • Exposure to emerging technologies including generative AI, retrieval-augmented generation, workflow automation, copilots, and agentic AI.
      • Professional growth through complex digital transformation engagements and opportunities to develop reusable AI frameworks and capabilities.
      • Collaborative environment spanning strategy, engineering, technology, delivery, compliance, and commercial functions.
