HGV Mechanic

The Lanes Group needs an experienced Mechanic to join our Glasgow workshop.
Shifts: Monday to Friday
Salary: £16.00 per hour + enhanced overtime rates
Contract: Permanent
** (£1,000 joining bonus - payable after probationary period) **
Main Duties:
We require an experienced mechanic/fitter to join our existing team at the Group’s busy workshop based at our Glasgow site. We have over 60 vans and specialised vehicles including vacuum tankers and various other commercial vehicles operating throughout our Northern region.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out vehicle maintenance and repairs to a varied LCV / HGV fleet
- Identify faults and carry out repairs using diagnostic equipment
- Working with and assisting other technicians when required
- Vehicle inspections
- Reactive maintenance as required.
- MOT preparation / Presentation to DVSA standards
- Correction of running defects.
Applicants should have:
- 3yrs HGV experience including MOT preparation
- Tanker Experience would be an advantage but not essential
- City & Guilds qualified
- Must be flexible
- A full UK driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points
