Build the Market Leader in Satellite Analytics with us at LiveEO

LiveEO uses satellite data and AI to monitor critical infrastructure at scale. As a Geospatial Data Analyst (f/m/x), you’ll sit at the heart of our operations, working with geospatial and satellite data to make sure our analytics projects are delivered reliably, accurately, and on time.

You’ll work closely with Project Managers, our Operations Support Studio, engineers, and product teams - investigating data, understanding our analytics pipelines, solving delivery issues, and helping us continuously improve how our technology performs in real-world use cases across energy and transportation infrastructure.

This role is a maternity leave cover and is offered on a fixed-term contract for 1 year.

Your challenge

  • Analyze, validate, and interpret geospatial and satellite data across global customer projects
  • Take ownership of analytics deliveries and help ensure high technical quality and reliability
  • Understand and adapt to different analytics use cases across energy and transportation infrastructure
  • Investigate data and pipeline issues, identify root causes, and communicate findings clearly to engineering teams
  • Work closely with engineers, Project Managers, and the Operations Support Studio to resolve issues and keep deliveries moving
  • Develop a strong end-to-end understanding of our analytics pipelines and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and quality
  • Provide structured feedback to Product and Engineering teams when you identify recurring issues or opportunities for improvement
  • Use AI coding and analysis tools such as Claude or Cursor for data validation, pipeline debugging, and analysis - while critically validating their output before acting on it
  • Work with tools and technologies including QGIS, Python, SQL, AWS, remote sensing tools, and large-scale geospatial datasets

Your profile

  • A degree in geoinformatics, remote sensing, geography, computer science, data science, statistics, mathematics, or another quantitative/technical field
  • Hands-on experience working with geospatial data and GIS tools, ideally QGIS
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate complex data or technical issues in a structured way
  • A high level of ownership and self-management - you ask questions, seek clarity, and proactively move problems toward resolution
  • Comfortable using AI coding and analysis tools as part of your daily work, while applying your own judgement to verify results
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities and customer requirements can change
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • A collaborative working style and the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • You live in Berlin or are willing to relocate

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Python and SQL
  • Remote sensing / Earth Observation experience
  • Experience with geodatabases and large-scale data management
  • AWS or other cloud infrastructure experience
  • Machine learning or deep learning knowledge
  • Software engineering experience
  • Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Prefect

Your Benefits

  • The opportunity to work with satellite and geospatial data on real-world infrastructure challenges across the globe and contribute directly to how LiveEO delivers its analytics products.
  • We empower employees to drive their own career development, take initiative and have the freedom to be creative and bold.
  • Not an overtime culture - we take care that overtime is done only as a necessity and always offset with time off and rest.
  • A collaborative and learning environment - frequent internal workshops, knowledge sharing sessions, journal clubs and hackathons, with the opportunity to learn across geospatial analytics, AI and satellite technology.
  • Office located in the centre of Berlin Kreuzberg with free fruit, nuts and drinks.
  • Potential to participate in the employee stock option program.
  • Urban Sports membership and BVG subsidy, Jobrad, corporate pension program.
  • A diverse and vibrant international environment of 30+ different nationalities.
