Control Room Operator - Traffic Scotland (permanent)
Job Description
Control Room Operator working for Mobiie (a joint venture company formed between Arcadis IBI Group and Egis), delivering the Traffic Scotland service 24/7 on behalf of Transport Scotland. This role is based at the flagship Traffic Scotland National Control Centre at South Queensferry, with spectacular views of the Firth of Forth and the 3 famous Forth Bridges.

Main Duties
- Monitoring Scottish trunk road network using CCTV and Intelligent Transportation Systems.
- Responding to and managing planned and unplanned incidents and events throughout Scotland.
- Controlling the network using variable message signs, motorway signal units and traffic signals.
- Liaising with operational partners such as Police Scotland, road maintenance companies, Traffic Scotland roadside engineers, Transport Scotland and the Met Office.
- Communicating traffic and travel information via our website, social media and stakeholder reports.

Required Qualifications/Experience
- Standard Grade, GCSE, or equivalent
- Customer service, control room or operational role: 2 years experience
- Good standard of written work
- Good communication skills
