Role Overview & Responsibilities

AWP Specialised Services is currently embarking on a journey of exciting new developments, in response to the rising clinical need to support Gambling harms. AWP have been provided with additional investment to help support and provide treatment for people who want help with their gambling in a trauma informed way.

AWP are investing in additional resources for our new Specialised Southwest Gambling Harms Service and we are looking for new members of staff from all over the South West area who may come from a number of backgrounds from core mental health to addiction services to join this new service to create a friendly and supportive team.

This is an exciting and developing field to work in with national collaborations and space to innovate therapeutic interventions for our service users. Our service is a collaboration with a number of providers who share the same values and we would like you to consider applying.

Base to be decided dependant on service needs.
1. To fulfil a comprehensive role as a Psychologist/Psychological Therapist within the Gambling Harms Service
2. To assess and treat a specialist workload of clients and maintain associated records.
3. To participate in Continued Professional Development and other developmental activities.
4. To undertake Research and Development and clinical audit.
5. To clinically supervise trainees, assistants and team members as appropriate to level of experience.
6. To offer consultation to midwives and other staff where appropriate.

1. To provide a psychologically informed service to the Gambling Harms Service including assessment and specialist formulation for individuals and carers as appropriate.
1. To provide specialist consultation and supervision to more junior members of the team and other agencies providing care for the client group.
1. To liaise with the Gambling Harms Service and identify appropriate care pathways for patients with needs relating to pregnancy, trauma and loss.
1. To work jointly with colleagues within the Gambling Harms service offering consultation, case management and case-based discussion and providing expert advice.
1. To participate in Gambling Harms Service referral processes and meetings.
1. To participate in generic team duties as agreed by the team leader and Senior Psychological Therapist/Psychologist, as appropriate to the needs of the service. Gambling Harms Service.
1. To participate in clinical and caseload supervision arrangements provided by the Gambling Harms Service.
1. To maintain accurate records and to monitor clinical workload using agreed systems.
1. To support the full implementation of ICPA where appropriate.
